Overview
Swiftask automatically saves your chat sessions and organizes them chronologically in the left sidebar. This ensures your past interactions, prompts, and agent responses remain accessible at any time.
Search and history management tools allow you to retrieve past conversations, filter exchanges by specific AI agents, and assign threads to collections or projects.
Use these tools to maintain continuity across tasks, reduce clutter in your sidebar, and organize your work into structured workflows.
Prerequisites
Access to a Swiftask workspace with Chat enabled.
At least one active or previous conversation in your chat history.
Standard workspace member permissions (chat history management is available on all plans).
Step-by-step guide
Locate past conversations in the left sidebar
Open Chat from the left navigation sidebar.
View your past conversations listed chronologically under date headers such as Today or previous months (such as July).
Click any conversation to open it and continue the discussion.

Search chat history by keyword
In the left panel, click Search chat located below the New chat button.
In the Search chat field at the top, type a keyword, topic, or phrase from the conversation you want to locate.
Review the filtered list of conversations matching your query, organized by date with relative timestamps.
Click any search result to open that conversation immediately.

Filter chat history by agent
From the chat history search view, click Filter by agent in the upper-right corner.
In the Filter by agent modal, click the agent selection dropdown.
Select the agent whose conversations you want to display (for example, Swiftask).
Click Confirm.

View the filtered list displaying only conversations associated with the selected agent, indicated by an active filter badge (e.g.,
swiftask ✕).Click the
✕on the agent badge at any time to clear the filter and restore all conversations.

Manage conversations using the options menu
Hover over any conversation in the left sidebar or history list.
Click the three dots (…) options menu next to the conversation title.
Select an action from the menu:
Rename: Update the conversation title to a clear, custom name.
Delete: Permanently delete the conversation thread from your workspace.
Move to collection: Add the conversation to an existing custom collection.
Move to project: Transfer the conversation to a collaborative team project.

Understand collections
Collections are custom folders located in the Chat left sidebar that allow you to group related conversations by topic, client, or department.
Using Move to collection on a conversation places it within a designated folder, keeping your main chronological history uncluttered.
Practical use cases
Isolating specialized agent sessions: Filter your conversation history by a custom agent (such as a legal or code assistant) to quickly find specific past analysis without scrolling through general queries.
Transitioning ideas into projects: Begin an initial brainstorming session in Chat, then select Move to project from the options menu to share the context with your project team.
Organizing client research: Rename completed research threads with standardized client codes and move them into a dedicated client collection for fast retrieval.
Tips & best practices
Active conversations automatically move to the top of your history list whenever a new message is sent.
Assign descriptive titles using Rename immediately after a productive session to simplify subsequent keyword searches.
Combine the Search chat bar with the Filter by agent feature to narrow down results in large workspaces.
Troubleshooting
An older conversation does not appear in search results
Cause: The conversation was held with a different agent than the one currently filtered, or the search term does not match the conversation content.
Fix: Click the
✕on the active agent badge to clear the filter, then enter a broader search keyword.
Cannot locate a recently updated conversation
Cause: The conversation reordered to the top under Today after receiving a new message.
Fix: Check the Today section at the top of the sidebar or use the search bar to locate it.
